Media probe officer seeks police delay

A former Special Branch officer arrested days before he is due to give evidence to the Leveson Inquiry has asked for a police interview to be postponed. Alec Owens, a former investigator for the Information Commissioner's Office who highlighted its decision not to pursue journalists over the alleged buying of unlawfully obtained information, had been due to attend a police station yesterday. "I am suspicious about the timing of this raid," he said. "I have asked that any interview take place after I have given evidence."
