Manor Park shooting: Man dies after knife and gun attack in London
'Despite the efforts of medics, the male died at the scene,' police say
A man has died after suffering “knife and gunshot wounds” in east London.
“Despite the efforts of medics, the male died at the scene,” Scotland Yard said in a statement.
After being alerted by the London Ambulance Service that a man had been attacked in Manor Park on Monday night, it added that officers found the man in his 20s “suffering from what are believed to be knife and gunshot wounds”.
The area surrounding the scene was sealed off and murder detectives were notified.
An increased police presence was also deployed in the area as an investigation began.
The incident came within hours of three teenagers being stabbed within minutes of each other in nearby Waltham Forest.
The first victim, a boy believed to be 15-years-old, was found.
Within minutes police were called to a nearby address where two 19-year-old men were also found with stab wounds.
All three victims were taken to hospital where their condition is not yet known.
Four arrests had been made, Scotland Yard said.
There have been a spate of violent incidents across the capital.
Last week a man appeared in court in connection with five knife attacks that took place in Edmonton, north London.
One of the victims, a 45-year-old woman, was left paralysed after her spinal cord was severed in the attack.
Police appealed for any witnesses to contact them on 101.
