Police launch probe into circumstances of deaths of two men in their 50s

Two men in the 50s have been found dead at an address in Manchester, police said.

Greater Manchester Police officers were called out to a property in Hopgarth Walk in the Newton Heath area of the city earlier on Tuesday after reports of concern for the welfare of a man.

The bodies of two men believed to be in their 50s were discovered, the force said.

A statement from the force said inquiries into the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain ongoing and a post-mortem examination will take place over the coming days.

Officers are currently at the scene to carry out inquiries.

A police spokesperson said: “A scene is currently in place on Hopgarth Walk in Newton Heath … The scene will remain in place while officers carry out their enquiries.”

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain ongoing and a Home Office Post Mortem examination will take place over the coming days.”
