Man shot dead outside home

A murder inquiry was launched today after a man was gunned down outside his home in broad daylight.

Anthony Wright, 35, died at Wishaw General Hospital within hours of being shot at around 7am today.

The incident happened in Inverkip Drive, Shotts, Lanarkshire.

No-one else was injured in the shooting.

Strathclyde Police said the victim's relatives have been informed.
