Man remanded over attempted murder of PC
A man appeared in court today charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
Damian Divine, 26, of no fixed address, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court accused of the shooting in South Croydon on July 15.
He is also charged with possession of a firearm and using a firearm with intent to resist arrest.
Divine spoke only to confirm his name, age and address during the short hearing today.
It is alleged that he fired two shots at an officer as he fled police in Kingsdown Avenue. One bullet hit the PC in the arm.
Divine was remanded in custody to appear at Kingston Crown Court on August 2.
Two other men have already been charged in connection with the incident.
Adewale Ogunsanya, 22, of Leigham Court Road, Streatham Hill, south west London, and Demar Provan, 21, of no fixed address, appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court on July 18 charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of ammunition.
They will appear at Croydon Crown Court on September 23.
