Man remanded on 1994 girlfriend murder charge

A 40-year-old Portuguese man accused of murdering his girlfriend 16 years ago today appeared via videolink at the Old Bailey to deny the charge.

Miguel Da Silva, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to face trial on October 25 over the death of Susan Martin.

Miss Martin, 44, was found strangled at a flat in Notting Hill, west London, in September 1994.
