A man will appear in court today charged with possessing an explosive substance after chemicals were found at a flat.
Nottinghamshire Police said Darren James, 26, who was arrested at a property in Mapperley, Nottingham, early on Thursday, would appear before magistrates in the city.
A police spokesman said he had been charged with two counts of possessing an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose, possession of a firearm, possession of prohibited ammunition, and two counts of possessing an air weapon contrary to restrictions placed upon him.
James has also been charged with receiving stolen goods after a police inquiry which saw army bomb disposal experts called to a flat in Central Avenue, Mapperley.
A 100-metre cordon was thrown around the property on Thursday as a precautionary measure and a nearby primary school was also evacuated.
A 23-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
