Man held over war veteran's death

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Second World War veteran whose body was found at his home in Dorset, police said.
The pensioner, understood to be William "Bill" Kenely, 84, was found in Anning Road, Lyme Regis, on Monday.
A 56-year-old man has been arrested and is helping with enquiries, the county force said.
On Tuesday afternoon, a post mortem showed only that Mr Kenely died from "wounds". Police have not commented on reports that his throat was slashed.
The force said there was sign of forced entry at the home of the pensioner - who is believed to have fought in Burma - and nothing had been stolen.
Inspector Caroline Naughton, of Bridport police, said on Wednesday: "The man's death is still being treated as unexplained, as it is not yet clear how he came to sustain his injuries.
"However, as part of our investigation a 56-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with this incident. This man is now helping us with our enquiries."
Police were called at 8.18am on Bank Holiday Monday. Officers and an ambulance crew went to the the scene and a paramedic confirmed that the man was dead.
House-to-house enquiries were made in the Staples Terrace area and the man's home continues to be examined by investigators.
Insp Naughton continued: "An incident such as this is very unusual in the Lyme Regis area and I should stress that there is no sign of forced entry at the man's home and I understand that nothing is believed to have been stolen."
