The prime suspect in the double murder of two hotel workers was in hospital last night with serious wrist and neck injuries.

The man, 31, was arrested in Harlington, west London, after police found the bodies of a man and woman, both aged 20, at premises near Heathrow on Wednesday.

Next of kin have been informed and police were waiting to formally identify the victims. Post-mortem examinations were due to take place yesterday afternoon but police have confirmed that both died of stab wounds. A knife has been recovered.

Officers were called to New Road, Harlington, following concerns for the welfare of the occupants.

The properties lie behind the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow Hotel and Convention Centre, with the rear gardens backing on to the hotel's secure gated car park. The pair were believed to have been workers at the hotel.
