Police investigating the alleged kidnapping of a boy aged 10 in the West Midlands have charged a man in connection with the incident.

Michael Jackson, 49, has been charged with kidnap and sexual assault in Oldbury on Sunday. The boy was reported missing after he failed to return home from the shops. Police searched for two hours before a neighbour spotted him inside a property. He was uninjured and returned to his family.

Two other men were questioned. One was released on police bail and another released without charge.

The Crown Prosecution Service said it had also charged Mr Jackson with one further count of child abduction related to a separate incident on 14 September in which an 11-year-old child from Oldbury was allegedly abducted.
