Man charged over four deaths in Leicester house fire

An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with a house fire in which four people died. Shehnila Taufiq, her sons Jamal and Bilal and daughter Zainab died in the fire in Leicester on 12 September.

The man will appear at Leicester magistrates’ court tomorrow. The Assistant Chief Constable of Leicestershire, Roger Bannister, said: “We do not believe that the murders are racially motivated.”
