Man charged after statue of Jesus is damaged

A man has been charged after a statue of Jesus Christ was broken and pulled off a crucifix outside a church.

Officers were called to St Herbert's RC Church in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, on June 19 after a report the figure was missing, police said.

Polish national Janusz Sloser, 55, of Mount Road, Gorton, will appear before Oldham Magistrates' Court on July 6 accused of racially aggravated criminal damage.
