A man has been arrested at Gatwick Airport over Syria-related terrorism offences, West Midlands Police say.
The 24-year-old was arrested before boarding a flight.
A 20-year-old woman has also been arrested over Syria-related offences in west London.
Police say there was "no risk to any passengers at Gatwick Airport or to the wider public in relation to these arrests".
The pair are being held at a police station in the West Midlands.
Searches are being carried out at two addresses in Birmingham.
