Man arrested after two people are stabbed to death at east London sheltered housing
A man in his 80s and a woman in her 50s were found with stab wounds at complex in Ilford
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly man in his 80s and a woman in her 50s were stabbed to death at a sheltered housing complex.
Emergency services were called to Fernways Sheltered Housing, in Ilford, east London, on Saturday night.
The man and the woman were found with stab wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, police have said.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to an east London police station where he was remanded in custody
Both of the victims and the suspect are believed to be known to each other but were not related, according to police.
