Man and woman found dead near King's Lynn following shooting
The pair are believed to be Stephen and Allison Muncaster
A man and a woman in their late 40s have been found shot dead at a property near King’s Lynn.
The body of a man was discovered by police in the front garden of a property on Stow Road in the village of Magdalen early on Tuesday morning while the body of a woman was found inside. Both are believed to have died from gun shot wounds and a firearm has been located at the scene, Norfolk police said.
Police said the man and woman are believed to be Stephen Muncaster, 47, and Allison Muncaster, 48.
Mr Muncaster was the uncle of Michael Carroll, who, fourteen years ago, won £9.7m in a Lotto jackpot at the age of 19. Mr Carroll was widely dubbed the "Lotto lout", spending around £8m of his winnings in less than four years on a mansion, cars, holidays, drugs and alcohol.
Reports suggest the bodies of Mr and Mrs Muncaster were found at the uncle's bungalow and home.
East of England Ambulance Service staff raised concerns for the safety of two residents just after midnight on Tuesday.
Detectives from the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team (MIT) have launched an enquiry into the deaths. The road has been closed and a seal put in place at the property for crime scene investigators to carry out forensic examinations.
Detective Superintendent Paul Durham said: "As a result of our investigation this morning, there is no evidence to suggest that anyone else was involved in this incident. However, our investigation into the full circumstances surrounding their deaths will continue. At the moment it is thought that both of them died from gunshot wounds and a firearm has been located at the scene.
"Home Office post mortems will take place in due course and we will seek to formally identify the couple as soon as possible."
