Man, 72, held in Jimmy Savile investigation

A 72-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual offences by officers from Operation Yewtree.

The man was arrested in east London yesterday afternoon by officers investigating the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal and was taken into police custody.

He was later bailed to return pending further inquiries on a date in July.

He falls under the strand of Operation Yewtree police have termed "others".
