A man has been arrested over a multi-million pound seizure of cannabis on its way to Northern Ireland.

Police seized the drugs at Lochryan Port, Belfast Way, Cairnryan, Dumfries and Galloway, on Tuesday.

The drugs were seized from a vehicle which was about to get on the ferry to Belfast.

The drugs have a potential street value in Northern Ireland of approximately £2.1 million.

A Dumfries and Galloway police spokesman said a 60-year-old man from the Manchester area has been arrested.
