Boys aged 14 and 15 to appear in court on Monday
Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of a 15-year-old schoolboy who was shot and stabbed to death.
The boys aged 14 and 15 are accused of killing Keon Lincoln in the street in the Handsworth area of Birmingham last week.
They have been remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday.
Keon died at Birmingham Children's Hospital after suffering gunshot and stab wounds in Linwood Road at about 3.30pm on 21 January.
His mother Sharmaine Lincoln described her son’s death as "every parent's worst nightmare". She added: "I heard the gunshots and my first instinct was 'where's my son?' Those were the first words I said.
“Then a few minutes went by – I found out that there was somebody up the road and ... it was my boy.”
West Midlands Police have made a total of nine arrests during the investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Alastair Orencas. from the force's homicide unit, said: "The death of Keon has left so many devastated.
"The whole community has felt the pain of losing a 15-year-old boy with his life in front of him.
"These charges are a significant milestone in our investigation but we continue to leave no stone unturned to get justice for Keon.
"Our enquiries remain ongoing and we still need you to come forward and tell us what you know. It could prove crucial in this investigation."
