A woman who discovered she had married a convicted paedophile during their honeymoon is still trying to divorce him after five years.

Jazmin Cullen, 24, from Surrey, was in Brighton with new husband Jason Cullen when her grandmother discovered images of child abuse on a laptop that he had been using.

Mr Cullen, whose real name is Jason Hodson, was arrested on 25 February 2011 after his wife’s grandmother informed the police.

Mrs Cullen then found out that the 31-year-old, who is a former ambulance call operator, had concealed his criminal history, and had been jailed in 2009 where he served half of a two-year prison sentence for possession of 8,000 child abuse images.

When questioned after the February arrest, Mr Cullen told police: "I am a paedophile, I cannot help it. I cannot control it but I do not get any sexual gratification from it."

Mrs Cullen has been unable to divorce her husband since their marriage five years ago, ITV reported.

Couples in the UK must be married for at least a year before either party can apply for a divorce.

However, if one partner refuses, a divorce can usually be granted after a couple have lived apart for five years, regardless of whether both people agree to it.
