The widower of reality TV star Jade Goody appeared in court today accused of using threatening and abusive behaviour.

Jack Tweed, 23, of Buckhurst Hill, Essex, whose wife died nearly two years ago, faced magistrates in Redbridge, north east London.

He spoke only to confirm personal details and the hearing was adjourned until February 22.

The allegation is understood to relate to an incident outside Deuces Bar and Lounge in Chigwell, Essex, in which a 21-year-old builder suffered minor injuries.

Tweed, who married Big Brother star Goody shortly before she lost a battle against cervical cancer in March 2009, is accused of using threatening words and behaviour towards Tom Grantham on January 3.

Tweed appeared alongside his brother, Lewis Tweed, 20, also of Buckhurst Hill, and friend Mark Wright, 24, of Romford, who has appeared in reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex.

Lewis Tweed and and Deuces bar owner Wright are also accused of using threatening behaviour towards Mr Grantham.

No pleas were entered and all three men were released on unconditional bail.
