Inquiry into Litvinenko poisoning

A pre-inquest review into the death of the Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko will be held next month.

Mr Litvinenko, 43, was poisoned with radioactive polonium-210, allegedly while drinking tea at a meeting with two Russians – former KGB contacts Andrei Lugovoy and Dmitry Kovtun – in London in 2006.

High Court judge Sir Robert Owen, appointed assistant deputy coroner, will hold the review in public on 20 September.
