Gloucester stabbing: Two teenagers arrested after 16-year-old boy stabbed to death
Investigators examining CCTV as efforts continue to identify victim
Two teenagers have been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Gloucester.
Ramarni Crosby was attacked on Stratton Road in the Tredworth area of the city at about 6pm on Wednesday.
Police said the youngster, from the village of Frampton on Severn, died at the scene from his injuries.
A 16-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of murder after attending a police station on Thursday.
Speaking at the scene, Chief Inspector Rich Pegler, from Gloucestershire Constabulary, said: “Official identification is yet to take place but the boy is believed to be 16-year-old Ramarni Crosby, known to family and friends as ‘Marni’.
“The family of this young man has been informed and our thoughts go out to them at this devastating time. They are now receiving support from our family liaison officers.
“Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of murder after attending a police station earlier today.
“However, there are a number of people still outstanding who we would like to speak to.
“Both ourselves, and Ramarni’s family, are asking any witnesses, or any parents who know of their child’s involvement, to come forward.
“This was a horrific incident, which is even more tragic because of the young age of the victim. It has understandably sent shockwaves through the community, and caused a huge outpouring of anger and grief.”
Mr Pegler said officers would be patrolling the area in the coming days and encouraged anyone with concerns to speak to police.
He added: “We would also urge anyone who has not already spoken to us, or anyone who has video footage of the incident, to contact us and not to post it on social media.”
