Several people have been rushed to hospital after gangs reportedly turn a Glaswegian suburb into a "war zone".
Witnesses reported seeing a towering fire, a boy "covered in blood" and two vans burnt out in the street in Frankfield Road in the Cardowan area of the city on Sunday afternoon
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they had transported "several patients" to hospital.
Reports on social media suggest as many as five people have been stabbed.
Officers were called to the scene at around 1:30pm and a spokesman said the disorder was "more likely to be rival gangs fighting" than terrorism.
It is understood the incident was the result of an altercation between groups of males.
Frank Kerr, a crane operator form the area, said: "I saw a boy sitting in a paramedic's van. He was covered in blood, but I didn't see what happened to him.
"It's very rare for this neck of the woods.
"There was a fire at the end of the street, and I heard tyres blowing up. There were police, fire brigade, ambulances, tow trucks, you name it, everything was here."
The 59-year-old said he did not know if anyone had been shot as he had only witness the aftermath of the incident saying he "didn't hear any gunshots, just tyres blowing up with the heat".
An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said he saw two vans on fire with flames "as high as a house".
He said: "I was washing my car and I saw high flames and smoke, then the fire brigade came".
Police said inquiries were still at an early stage and they would not cause or nature of the victims injuries.
