Four arrested over street shooting death
At least four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in which one man died and another was seriously injured.
Police were called to Streatham High Road in south London after residents heard several shots in the early hours today.
Two men were taken to Mayday Hospital in Croydon suffering gunshot wounds. One of them - aged about 30 - was pronounced dead a short time later.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said at least four people have been arrested in connection with the incident at 5.20am.
The second victim remains in a serious condition and under armed guard in hospital.
Witnesses reported seeing at least two vehicles leave the scene of the shooting.
Officers from Trident, the unit set up to investigate gun crime in the capital's black community, are investigating.
A stretch of Streatham High Road was closed in both directions this morning while police searched the area.
