Roads cordoned off in Sheffield after stabbings

Five people have been injured following two connected stabbings in Sheffield city centre, police have said.

Four people were arrested and detained in connection with the incident, which occurred early on Saturday morning, according to South Yorkshire Police.

A police cordon was put up in the Barker's Pool area, with a number of roads subsequently closed until further notice.

The force wrote on Twitter: “We are dealing with two linked stabbing incidents in Sheffield city centre in the early hours of Saturday 30. Five people were injured.

“Four people have been arrested and detained in relation to the stabbing incidents in Sheffield early this morning.

“Roads are closed until further notice at Cambridge St, Carver St/Division St, Barker's Pool and Bethell Wk leading to Backfields.”
