Father and son shot 'by mistake' in revenge attack

Tuesday 09 April 2013 14:03 EDT

A father and son were mistakenly shot by a gunman in a revenge attack, the Old Bailey heard.

Ahmet Paytak, 50, and his son Huseyin, 21, were closing up the shop in March 2009 when two men pulled up on a motorcycle. The gunman went into the shop, in Holloway, north London, and fired four shots, killing the father and injuring the son. But Ricardo Dwyer, 27, had been paid to target another father and son who also worked in the store, the court heard.

Mr Dwyer, of no fixed address, denies murder and attempted murder. The jury heard the motor- cycle rider Michael James, then 31, had been convicted of murder and jailed for life. The trial continues.
