'Fake sheikh' pair jailed
Conmen who pretended to be sheikhs to trick a finance company out of £1.5m were jailed yesterday at the Old Bailey.
They used two fake sheikhs to pose as wealthy Arab brothers and "hijacked" a £6m London flat that was for sale to secure the loan.
A sting operation was arranged when their target became suspicious and called the police.
Mortgage broker Jonathan Flynn, 38, was found guilty of fraud and jailed for four-and-a-half years. Shakil Ahmed, 36, who fled while on bail, was jailed for three years in his absence.
