'Eta terrorist' loses fight on extradition
A Basque man accused of trying to assassinate the King of Spain and other terror offences has lost his High Court battle against extradition.
Two judges overturned a magistrate's decision that had blocked Eneko Gogeaskoetxea Arronategui, 44, being extradited on the specific charge of attempting to kill King Juan Carlos in 1997 on the grounds that it was unsustainable under Spanish law.
Mr Gogeaskoetxea, an alleged member of Eta, is wanted on eight arrest warrants, including placing grenade-launchers aimed at Madrid Barajas Airport.
