Man punches woman twice outside Faces

Police are hunting a man who was caught on camera knocking a woman unconscious outside an east London nightclub.

The incident was the culmination of a row between the victim and her attacker outside Faces nightclub in Gants Hill at around 3am on Saturday morning.

In video footage posted online, the man and woman can be seen arguing in the street outside the nightclub.

The man then raises his fist and strikes the victim in the side of the head, before landing another blow which causes the woman to slump to the floor unconscious.

In the nine second clip, several onlookers can be heard shouting “oh my god” as the assault takes place in front of them.

The woman was later taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said the force was aware of the attack and officers from Redbridge borough, where the nightclub is situated, were investigating.

The incident is being treated as a case of grievous bodily harm. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
