Deceased named locally as 22-year-old mother Annabelle Lancaster
Tributes have been paid to a 22-year-old woman believed to have died after falling from the top floor of a block of flats in north London. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Named locally as mother-of-one Annabelle Lancaster, neighbours described her as "lovely" and a bubbly girl.
The 22-year-old died after she was found with critical injuries in a car park near the eight-storey Brookbank building in Enfield on Sunday evening.
She reportedly fell from an eighth floor window of the block of flats.
A 26-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and continued to be questioned by detectives at a north London police on Monday.
A friend who only wanted to give her name as Courtney, 22, paid tribute to Ms Lancaster as she lay flowers at the scene of her death.
She said: “I knew Annabelle from when we were staying in a mother and baby unit together. I know she was really close with her family, especially with her mum.
“She was one of those really bubbly girls, always up for a laugh. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her upset. She was always so happy. I feel bad that I haven't spoken to her in so long
Another neighbour described the woman as a “lovely girl”.
They told the Evening Standard that she had lived at the block of flats for about two years with her young daughter and partner.
The woman’s next of kin has been informed and a post-mortem examination and formal identification will take place.
