Eltham stabbing: Man has moped stolen in broad daylight during London knife attack
Two arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm
A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed and robbed of his moped in south east London late on Tuesday afternoon.
The man, believed to be aged in his late 20s, was taken to a south London hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he remains in a critical condition.
Police were called out to reports of an assault on Crossmead in the Eltham area shortly after 5pm.
The Metropolitan Police said officers believe the victim was stabbed during a robbery in which his moped was stolen.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and have been taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.
Police put a cordon in place at the scene of the suspected attack on Crossmead, close to Mottingham station near the A20.
“The man was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
“At this early stage, officers believe that the man was stabbed during a robbery in which his moped was stolen. Two people have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They have been taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.”
