A man has been charged with murder after a toddler died from unexplained injuries.

Michael Wild, 28, from Wythenshawe in Greater Manchester, appeared at Manchester and Salford magistrates court in court on Saturday afternoon.

Ella-Rose Clover, 22-months-old, was rushed by ambulance to hospital on Sunday after reports she was having a medical episode.

Doctors were unable to save her life and she was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination revealed the child had unexplained injuries and an investigation was launched.

In a GoFundMe page set up for the child’s family, her mother Pagan Clover wrote: “Ella-Rose was such an amazing little girl who no matter what was always smiling, she could walk into a room and light it up, sadly on 21.01.18 Ella-rose grew her angel wings.

“This is a sad and devastating time for everyone who has had the pleasure to be a part of Ella’s life."

Police said a 34-year-old woman who was arrested has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
