Doctor 'blackmailed by patient after sex act'
A doctor felt "threatened" and "intimidated" by a patient who blackmailed him following sexual liaisons, a court heard today.
Marion Burton - who advertised her services as a dominatrix - reduced the man to a state of fear after she performed a sex act on him while he was administering botox, jurors at Reading Crown Court were told.
Doctor X, who cannot be identified, said his client had also secretly filmed one encounter and had gone on to demand £20,000 for keeping quiet about it.
Mrs Burton - who called herself Mistress J - caught the doctor on a hidden camera at a clinic in Berkshire, after she lured him into the compromising position in October last year.
Later her husband Terry accosted the doctor with the footage and threatened to pass it to national newspapers, the General Medical Council (GMC) and to the doctor's wife if he failed to comply with their demands.
But fearing for his career and for his personal safety, Doctor X informed the police.
"I felt intimidated and threatened and still do," he told the court.
"I'm so frightened to be in my own home that I get in my car and drive away from the house and sleep in the car."
The jury has heard that Terry Burton pleaded guilty to blackmail but his wife, now of Maple Crescent, Slough, Berkshire, denies being involved.
