Crawley stabbing: Three arrested after 24-year-old man killed in street
Detectives 'believe that the victim was known to his attackers'
Three people have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in a street in Crawley.
Emergency services were called to Watson Close in Maidenbower just after 6.30pm on Thursday to reports a 24-year-old man had been seriously injured.
The man was declared dead at the scene, Sussex Police said.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder and possession of cannabis.
He was arrested after a 47-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder on Thursday.
Detectives said they were conducting enquiries to locate two other people in connection with the murder.
“We believe that the victim was known to his attackers and we have arrested three people in connection with the murder,” Detective Chief Inspector Till Sanderson, who is leading the investigation, said.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this tragic time and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, the events leading up to it or who has any information to assist our enquiry to report online or call 101 quoting Operation Horseman.”
The victim has not been named but his next-of-kin have been informed.
