Couple are arrested over 'bribes'
A serving member of the armed forces and his wife were arrested yesterday by detectives investigating bribery of public officials by newspapers.
Scotland Yard acted after receiving information from News Corporation's management standards committee, which was set up in the wake of the phone-hacking scandal.
The woman, 32, was arrested at her home in Chertsey at 6am and her husband, 42, at a property in Camberley, 30 minutes later.
The arrests take to 46 the number of people questioned by Operation Elveden, which is investigating corrupt payments to public officials.
