Police launch murder probe after man found stabbed to death in reservoir
Detectives question 50-year-old man over suspected stabbing of 37-year-old Edward Hinds
Detectives are investigating the murder of a man who was found dead in a reservoir in Cornwall.
Edward Hinds, 37, had suffered a suspected stab wound to the chest, police said.
His body was spotted in the water at Drift Service Reservoir near Penzance at 4pm on Thursday.
Police and paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but he was confirmed dead at the scene.
A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Mr Hinds was originally from the Midlands but had been living for the last few weeks in Lelant, west Cornwall, around ten miles from the reservoir.
Detective Inspector Steve Hambly said: "I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who believes they know Edward or may have had contact with him since he moved to the Lelant area of Cornwall.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Drift Service Reservoir or Lelant during the period of Monday 15 February through till Thursday 18 February.
"Anyone with any information which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101@dc.police.uk quoting log 686 18 February 2021."
Devon and Cornwall Police said they had carried out enquiries both in Cornwall and in Warwickshire in relation to the incident.
