Chemical case man denies wife murder
A man pleaded not guilty today to administering a stupefying drug and murdering his wife.
George Kibuuka, 47, is accused of killing his wife, Margaret, 40, who was found dead with stab wounds at her home in Shirley, Southampton, in November last year.
Kibuuka was also found injured at the house in Richville Road when his wife was discovered on November 8.
It later emerged that he had drunk pesticide, and the chemical seeped through his skin and caused irritation to medical staff treating him in hospital.
Firefighters called to the house at the time had to wear chemical protection suits to take away hazardous materials.
Kibuuka entered not guilty pleas at Winchester Crown Court and was remanded in custody until the case goes to trial on October 18.
Mrs Kibuuka originated from Uganda but had lived in the UK with her husband for a number of years.
