Police have released CCTV footage that shows the moment a courier was run down by her own delivery van.
In the video above the victim can be seen finishing a delivery before trying to stop the van that hits her. The suspect jumped into the vehicle and drove off after the keys were left in.
The 22-year-old woman suffered a shattered kneecap and a broken ankle that has seen her remain in hospital for an extended period of time and has kept her from returning to her job.
The incident occurred at Sunningvale Avenue in Biggin Hill, London on Thursday January 21.
The stolen van, a white Ford Transit, was later tracked to Orpington where it was recovered.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone else with information to come forward.
As Detective Constable Chris Taylor, from Bromley CID, said: “We would like to speak with anyone who has any information, who may have seen the van or anyone who was in the Sunningvale Avenue, Loxwood Close or Waldens Close areas in the early afternoon of 21 January.”
Anyone with any information should contact Bromley Police’s CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 3301373/16.
