Three people have been arrested in connection with an acid attack outside a restaurant in Southampton.

Carla Whitlock was left with serious burns after she was attacked outside the Turtle Bay restaurant on Friday 18 September.

Billy Midmore, 22, and his brother Geoffrey Midmore,26, were arrested along with an unnamed 33-year-old woman at around 10:45pm in Gillingham, Kent on Monday.

Detectives had previously launched a public appeal for information with a £5,000 reward.

Detective Inspector Will Whale, leading the investigation, said: "We have had a tremendous response from members of the public, and we'd like to thank them for coming forward and speaking to us, and for sharing our appeals on social media."

Ms Whitlock, 37, has been released from hospital but has been warned she may permanently lose sight in her right eye.

She told the BBC: "It has changed my life completely. I'm coping with it as best as I can."
