Builder in court charged with murdering wife

A builder appeared at the Old Bailey today charged with murdering his wife in India.

Jagpaljeet Singh Kular, 41, was remanded in custody until another hearing next month.

Kular, of Berkley Avenue, Cranford, west London, was charged with murdering Manjit Kaur Kular, 41, in the Punjab in November 2007.

Mrs Kular disappeared on the way to a Diwali festival and her mother was later told she had been run over by a car.
