Bride Kirsty Lane jailed for wedding cash theft

Thursday 21 June 2012 06:56 EDT

A bride who stole up to £200,000 from her bosses to help pay for her lavish wedding has been jailed for 20 months.

Kirsty Lane, 30, a part-time accounts assistant, channelled funds from Pure AV's bank account into her own and her future husband's. Her fraud was uncovered days after she married Graham Lane, 36, near Blackpool, in January last year. She admitted fraud, but Graham was earlier cleared of money laundering.

Passing sentence at Preston Crown Court, Judge Pamela Badley said: "This was a cynical exploitation of the small company for which you worked."

Lane also used the cash to pay for improvements at their home in Adlington, a 52in TV and personalised car registration plates.
