The Moors murderer Ian Brady's heart stopped for several minutes after he suffered a fit in hospital but medics resuscitated him against his wishes, it was reported yesterday.

Brady's advisor Jackie Powell told the Sunday Mirror that Brady, 74, was furious when he discovered what had happened in July at Ashworth Hospital, a secure psychiatric unit in Liverpool. He has long campaigned for the right to starve himself to death.
