Boy, 17, held over teenager's stab murder
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a teenager who was stabbed in a busy recreation ground.
Michael Simwanza, 17, was stabbed at the Kingsway Recreation Ground in Luton, Beds, on Saturday.
Officers were called to the scene at 3.10pm after receiving a report of a serious assault.
The victim, from Luton, was found with stab wounds to his body and was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital, where he died shortly afterwards.
Today, a spokeswoman for Bedfordshire Police said: "A 17-year-old man from Luton has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Michael Simwanza.
"A man handed himself in to Cambridgeshire Police last night.
"He is now being held at Luton police station and will be questioned by officers from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire major crime team later today."
