A body found in a river was today confirmed as that of a teenager who went missing after a night out.

Bryn Warren, 19, was last seen leaving the Metro nightclub in Cardiff in the early hours of last Thursday after spending the evening with friends.

His body was found in the River Taff at Fitzhamon Embankment opposite the Millennium Stadium by a member of the public last night.

Specialist officers from South Wales Police were called to recover the body.

A bunch of pink roses, pictures of Bryn and a tartan belt strapped to railings had been left at the scene with tributes from his family.

One note said: "Bryn our son/brother, you will always be part of the family, for the memories both good and bad are cut deep into our heart.

"Sleep peacefully, Dad, Mum, Laura, Glyn."

Another, signed by his sister Laura, said: "Bryn, forever will you be in our hearts. I will always remember you.

"Not a day will go by where I don't remember your face, your smile, your funny little ways and your anecdotes.

"You were always the sensible one loved by all. You followed your dreams, always did what you love.

"Your friends and family will miss you dearly. You had a lot of love and support. You will always be on their minds and never be a stranger.

"Love you always, your loving sister Laura."

Gary Collins, an electrical installation tutor at Coleg Glan Hafren in Cardiff, said the teenager had just successfully completed his level three electrical installation technical certificate.

Mr Collins added: "During his studies Bryn proved himself to be an excellent student, very industrious, highly motivated and committed.

"He was a very polite and personable young gentleman with a very bright future ahead of him."

A spokeswoman said the college wished to express sincere condolences to Bryn's parents and family.
