Barry Bannan arrested after car crash

The Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after the car he was in hit the central reservation of a motorway.

Bannan, 21, and Shrewsbury Town striker James Collins, 20, were arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident after the crash on the M1. The pair were in a black Range Rover at around 5.30am on Sunday when the crash occurred.
