A man and a woman arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a baby boy have been released on police bail.

Police were called to an address in Walnut Close in Bilston, near Wolverhampton in the West Midlands, just before 2pm on Sunday after reports of a child in cardiac arrest.

The six-month-old was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place to establish the cause of death.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police are investigating the circumstances of the death and two people, a 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of murder and released on police bail while inquiries continue.
