Arrest after police appeal over 'dangerous man'
Scotland Yard arrested a man tonight after issuing an urgent appeal to trace "dangerous" Daniel Sonnex in relation to the murders of two French students in London.
The badly-burned bodies of Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez were found after an explosion at a rented bedsit in New Cross, south London, on 29 June.
Mr Bonomo had been stabbed nearly 200 times while Mr Ferez had suffered nearly 50 knife wounds.
Sonnex, 23 and 6ft 3in, who is also known as Dano, is believed to have connections close to New Cross. Detective Chief Inspector Mick Duthie, of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, had appealed for anyone with information about Sonnex to get in touch immediately.
Nigel Farmer, 33, of no fixed address - who is charged with murdering the two students, arson and attempting to pervert the course of justice - was remanded in custody by Greenwich magistrates today and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on 16 October.
Police are continuing to question a man aged 35 and a woman, aged 25.
