A father has paid tribute to his “beautiful, bright, inquisitive and artistic” 10-year-old son, whose mother has been charged with his murder in west London.

Officers and paramedics were sent to a residential address in Acton on Sunday morning after Olga Freeman, 40, walked into a police station in the early hours, the Metropolitan Police said.

The body of Dylan Freeman was found at the Cumberland Park address.

His father, celebrity photographer Dean Freeman, was said to have been left “beyond devastated”, as he paid tribute to his son on Monday.

“Dylan was a beautiful, bright, inquisitive and artistic child who loved to travel, visit art galleries and swim,” he said in a statement.

“We travelled extensively over the years together, spending such memorable time in places including Brazil, France and Spain. I can’t begin to comprehend his loss.”

Ms Freeman, of Cumberland Park, W3, was charged with murder on Monday and appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court that afternoon, where the case was referred to the Old Bailey.

No one else is being sought in connection with the death, police said.

Reverend Nick Jones, 61, the rector of Acton and a resident of Cumberland Park, said on Sunday that the news of the boy’s death was “shattering”.

“I’m still shaking a bit, it’s hugely upsetting,” he said, while another neighbour added that he was “in shock”.

Ms Freeman will appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
