11 arrested after teenager stabbed to death

Eleven people were arrested today after a 17-year-old was stabbed to death, police said.
The teenager was fatally injured early this morning after reports of a disturbance in Mill Hill, north west London.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police launched a murder inquiry and said they are retaining an open mind as to the motive.
Police were called at about 12.25am after reports of a disturbance at Bray Road, close to the junction with Bittacy Hill.
"Officers attended the scene and discovered a 17-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the torso," a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
"He was taken to Barnet General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival."
The victim's family have been informed.
Police said all 11 of those arrested were male but did not release further details.
A group of about 30 family and friends arrived at Bray Road to lay flowers this morning.
Three women stood arm in arm, comforting each other.
Several young men were also present, standing solemnly to pay their respects.
A large area was cordoned off.
A 16-year-old, who did not want to be named, said: "He was a nice guy.
"He was a very popular boy, everyone knows him. He came from a big family.
"We would never expect any of these things to happen. It's not a bad area."
The youth said the victim recently finished at a pupil referral unit, the Pavilion Study Centre.
He knew him for almost all his life and said he had friends all over the estate and "never had issues".
Another friend, a girl who also did not want to be named, said: "He never stopped spitting lyrics, he always talked in lyrics, he never talked properly. It's just a shock that it's all happened here."
Asked if he had any problems, she added: "He was a teenage boy. It's just what happens nowadays."
