The historic site of the Battle of Naseby in Northamptonshire where work is proceeding on the M1-A1 link road which will cross the battlefield where Cromwell inflicted a crushing defeat on Royalist forces in 1645 in the decisive battle of the English Civil War. Conservationists lost the final round of their 17-year battle against the development when the High Court rejected their application for judicial review in November.
